Homeschooling Help!!

Hello Friends. I am once again asking you to participate in a discussion. I am currently researching homeschool curriculum and it is really overwhelming!! Every options has pros and cons. If you have any ideas or have tried something, would you let me know? I have looked into Veritas's phonics museum ,Sonlight for kindergarten, Math U See, and Tapestry of Grace. They all look good on the Internet, but all of them have negative reviews somewhere. It is hard to tell with out trying them all out. If you have any experience with any of these, or have liked something else, I would really appreciate a comment. Thanks.

  1. Sarah, you might consider joining us for the "mom's night out" with Homeschoolers of Faith. The purpose is partly to look at the different curriculums families use. Also, you might consider going to the homeschool conf at the end of March. A used curriculum sale accompanies the conference AND THE CLICKA's are awesome...you and Cheyne would love to hear what they have to say. P.S. Tapestry of Grace is a little much for you right now (I LOVE IT, but I wouldn't recommend it to you for now...esp. with number 4 in the oven!) Did you ever look at Five in a Row? (Lamberts) What did you think of that? (J. Watts has it.) I would recommend Math U See for you tho. Come over sometime. We need to catch up anyway!

  2. Hey Sarah K, this is Sarah C!
I agree the best way to judge a curriculum is to get your hands on it! Math U See is probably the best math you could do. You could even start it now and not feel rushed at all- Maybe we should both do it!
My curriculum is kind of a hodge-podge of lots of stuff, but most of it is recomendations from friends. You should come over sometime and we can talk homeschooling! Next Tuesday?
